ROI, in partnership with ASTRO, developed the first of its kind, radiation oncology specific registry with a pilot in prostate cancer. The National Radiation Oncology Registry (NROR) collected data on patients' disease characteristics, status, treatment and
outcomes to identify patterns of care at various institutions and provide benchmarking reports across selected quality metrics.
NROR accomplished the following:
Built an electronic architecture and system for use by the 25 pilot sites
Developed regulatory and legal structure, including a central IRB and HIPPAA compliance
Established a standardized data dictionary for prostate cancer data collection
Published abstracts and articles in peer-reviewed journals and showcased information at poster presentations
